Mornings at the Market

Every Saturday, something extraordinary happens at the Burnaby City Hall parking lot on the corner of Canada Way and Deer Lake Parkway.
For about five hours every weekend, the ordinary grey parking space is transformed with gleaming white canopies, shiny produce and a wonderful array of handmade and homemade arts, crafts, savoury treats and yummy pastries. Oh wait, did I mention there’s also live music, face painting and two children’s play areas? All of which lends itself to a lively and festive atmosphere for the whole family. Continue reading →

Burnaby Blues Week

August is on its way, which means so is the Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival. This year’s headliners include Taj Mahal (who recently played at Ottawa’s Bluesfest), Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Serena Ryder and more.
